Your first carrier review

Start with a carrier you know. Confirm the company, add it to your watchlist, then review its public records and save your own decision.

Updated September 28, 2026

1. Find the right carrier

Open the free DOT lookup. If you only have an MC number or a company name, use the MC lookup or carrier search to find its USDOT number.

Compare the legal name, address and USDOT number with the carrier you intend to use. A similar company name alone is not a match. Public lookups do not require an account.

2. Start your watchlist

  1. Create an account or sign in. If you signed up with email and a password, follow the verification email; use the account's resend option if needed.
  2. Choose Carrier watch: $49/month for 50 carriers and 1,000 API calls/month. Finish checkout and return to your dashboard.
  3. Open Monitoring, enter the USDOT number in DOT number to monitor, then select Add to watchlist.
  4. Check that the carrier appears under Your watchlist. A subscription alone does not choose carriers for you.

At the watchlist limit, remove a carrier before adding another. Removal stops watching that carrier; it does not cancel your subscription. Manage your subscription in Billing.

3. Review the evidence together

Select Review carrier beside a watched carrier. The page brings together these sections:

  • UCC and state lien history: matched historical filings, their events, parties, source dates and match evidence. Expand a filing to see its timeline; use Next filings for additional pages.
  • Source evidence: FMCSA identity, registration, authority and safety facts. Follow Open FMCSA SAFER record when checking current status.
  • Shared contact signals: exact reported phone/address matches. Related businesses and shared offices can produce matches; these are not fraud findings. Only five are shown when additional matches exist.
  • Changes since your latest review: differences in the compared facts, when a previous saved review exists. Missing data can reflect an unavailable source.

Read the UCC and data coverage guide before interpreting filings. The combined page does not currently include an independent crash-event history or news feed. BASIC indicators on the public profile are not a list of accidents.

4. Save your decision

Under Save your decision, choose Approved, Needs review or Rejected, add private notes, and select Save decision. Wait for Decision saved with its evidence snapshot and check the saved history.

The decision is yours; it is not automatic carrier clearance. Notes and decisions stay within your account. The saved evidence snapshot currently covers the displayed FMCSA/contact evidence. UCC history is displayed separately and is not yet stored inside that saved snapshot.

If the evidence changes while you are saving, select Reload evidence, review the current facts and try again. If the save cannot be confirmed, check the history and retry; do not assume it succeeded. A later review adds a new decision to the history.

What alerts and exports include

Supported FMCSA alerts cover published insurance cancellation filings, involuntary suspension notices, and census out-of-service or safety-rating changes. Read the effective date: a posted notice does not itself establish that coverage or authority has already ended. Source publication can lag real-world events.

UCC change emails are not included yet. UCC records are imported historical snapshots with visible source dates. No email and no recent-change entry do not prove that nothing changed.

The dashboard shows the latest 50 changes within 14 days. Download CSV exports the displayed watchlist and recent changes, not all historical changes, private notes, saved evidence snapshots or UCC filings. To retrieve retained UCC records programmatically, use the paginated evidence API.

Two populated examples

These carriers have records in the September 28, 2026 UCC batch. They are examples of source coverage, not recommendations or adverse findings.

Public profiles work without signing in. Combined reviews require monitoring access and that carrier on your own watchlist. The add links prefill the number; select Add to watchlist to save it.

When something is missing

I paid but still see Subscribe.
Allow checkout confirmation to finish, reload, and check that you are signed in with the same account. Check Billing before attempting another purchase. Contact support if access is still missing.
The carrier review says to add it first.
Return to Monitoring and confirm the USDOT number is on your active watchlist. A public lookup does not add it automatically.
UCC says no confirmed match.
No match was found in the imported sources under the matching rules. This is not confirmation that the carrier has no liens.
A source is delayed, unavailable or needs refresh.
Keep the warning attached to your review, retry where offered, and follow the source link. Do not treat missing evidence as a favorable result.
An alert has not arrived.
Check the account email, spam folder, watchlist and displayed feed date. Not every dashboard field change sends an email. UCC alerts are not active.

For help, send the affected USDOT number, page URL and approximate time to karl@verifycarrier.com. Do not send passwords, API keys or payment-card details.
