New carrier leads: trucking companies that just registered or got authority

Every day we compare FMCSA's census and licensing files with the previous day's. The result is a list of carriers that received a new USDOT number or a new operating authority. We are deciding whether to package it as a daily or weekly lead feed. If you sell to new carriers, register below and tell us what you need in it.

Source: FMCSA Company Census file, compared daily by VerifyCarrier. Seven days ending October 3, 2026; distinct records, counted the same way as our public new registrations and new authorities lists. Counts refresh hourly.

For scale: our first census comparison, covering July 10 to July 12, 2026, recorded 591 new-entrant rows.

What a row would contain

Sample columns, drawn from FMCSA public records. Contact fields are deliberately left out of this sample: whether and how to include them, given that many new carriers are sole proprietors, is one of the questions we are asking buyers.

Who it is for

Commercial truck insurance agents

A new authority needs a BMC-91 liability filing before it can operate. The feed reaches carriers in that window.

Factoring companies

New carriers often need cash flow before their first shipper pays. Fleet size and operation type help qualify them.

ELD vendors

Interstate carriers with power units need an ELD. Fleet size tells you the deal size.

Fuel-card issuers

New fleets choose a fuel card early. State and fleet size narrow the list to your network.

Questions

Is this available today?

Not as a feed. The underlying daily lists are on VerifyCarrier now; the packaged feed (filters, CSV delivery, API) will be built if enough buyers ask for it. Registering is how you ask.

How is this different from downloading the FMCSA census?

The census is a snapshot of every carrier. The feed would contain only what changed since the previous day: new registrations and new authorities, with the date each change appeared.

Can I use the data for outreach?

FMCSA records are public, but outbound email and calls carry CAN-SPAM and TCPA obligations that stay with the sender.
